Premises Liability
This is a broad practice area that may involve:
1. Slip and fall accidents on a wet or dangerous surface.
2. An automobile accident as a result of a damaged and dangerous private or public road.
3. Accidents on stair cases due to a defective design on the stair case or a failure to maintain in a safe manner (such as inadequate hand rails or defective design).
In Texas, unlike automobile collision cases, premise liability cases are particularly challenging in that in order for the Plaintiff to establish liability, the Plaintiff must show that the owner/Defendant was aware of the dangerous condition that resulted in the injury. Our firm regularly represents Plaintiffs in premise liability cases and we welcome the opportunity to evaluate such cases.
Appellate Law
We believe that a thorough understanding of appellate law is necessary in order to be effective in litigation. A lawsuit is much like a marathon, whereby a law firm must continue to represent the interests of the client and continue such representation through an appeal. Our firm now handles appeals at both the state and federal level.
